Mushroom mycelium is capable of growing through organic waste such as straw and cardboard, holding the matter together like glue. The material is biodegradable and can be grown in 2-4 weeks.

Grow in Progress.

The structure was grown in a greenhouse which provided the required light, temperature, humidity and oxygen levels for the growth of the material.

The gourmet mushrooms that pop out from the structure can be used to prepare a top ramen. Soon our spatial surroundings could also be our source of food.

Once taken out of the humid growing environment, the material becomes robust by drying.

Mycelium could be used to grow temporary and edible structures for festivals and pop-up events.
